Welcome home

As I slouched my way back to San Diego, I couldn't help but feel like a fish out of water. The overwhelming sense of isolation gnawed at my soul, a sentiment I'm convinced plagues the minds of many who fled these parts. I mean, let's face it; there had to be a damn good reason we all scattered in the first place, right? And here I am, perpetually on the hunt for inspiration in this picturesque yet eerily stifling town. People flock here for vacations, escaping their own mundane towns, while I, on the other hand, return in search of something more elusive—inspiration.

This time was no different. After the whirlwind of my European adventures, I touched down with the usual post-travel blues. The rush of new sights and beautiful experiences was abruptly replaced by the mundane comforts of home. It was then that I made the decision to embark on a journey of my own—a walk down the strand to the pier, a ritual I could always rely on to clear my head and, just maybe, stumble upon some mind-bending snapshots. And wouldn't you know it, this time, it did not disappoint. It not only cleansed my mind but drenched it in the very inspiration I so fervently craved.

Even though I only took a few photos, it still made me feel accomplished that I was able to capture even just a handful of shots. It's all about those small victories. As I sift through my photos from home, I'm realizing that inspiration has always been right here, and I do find it. I know I need to change the way I look at and feel about being at home because it is a beautiful place with a rich culture and some truly remarkable people. I'm actively working on it. I love you, Oceanside. You will always be a part of me.
